Vivian // Founder.Owner, Instructor
I’m originally from San Rafael, CA (north of the Golden Gate Bridge) but have made Seattle my home since 2008 together with my husband. We moved here for my job in the fashion industry which I left in 2017. I’ve always known I would open a yoga studio soon after I got introduced to it while running long distance back in 2000 and here we are! When I left my career I immediately jumped onto being a student again to learn about yoga, teach yoga, experiment with v-gf-df-sf baking and juice mixes that are tasty and everyone can enjoy. 3 years later, I landed on a spot for DRIFT to come to life. I received all of my trainings from Yoga Medicine by Tiffany Cruikshank from 200 hr RYT to advanced trainings. I also trained in fascial web with Anatomy Trains by Tom Myers and from Love Your Brain, yoga for traumatic brain injury. I am an anatomy nerd…always digging into ways to challenge the body in a healthy way through movement.
My teaching style: Movement that challenges the mind and body allowing practitioners to explore and discover through breath.
Why I teach yoga: I simply want to share that yoga is movement, you don’t have to be flexible, it is accessible and that yoga can be done in a 45 minute class. No matter how long or short the practice is, yoga meets you where you need to be.
Fun fact / When I’m not teaching yoga: I run, I climb, I keep up with fashion and stay curious of what is going on around me to better the business, keep building my team and serve the community…that’s all fun, right?!
